About the area

Over the Hill From Five Ways

Paddington is one of Sydney's best known heritage suburbs, its streets lined with restored Victorian terrace houses and their distinctive cast iron balconies, sloping from the Oxford Street ridge down toward the harbour. The entire suburb was classified an Urban Conservation Area by the National Trust in 1974.

Five Ways, the village intersection in the suburb's northern, harbour facing pocket, is Paddington's local hub of cafes, small shops and bars. Victoria Barracks, built by convict labour between 1841 and 1846, still stands on Oxford Street.

Paddington sits roughly 0.9km (straight-line) from the Paddington tennis courts at Rushcutters Bay Park. Confirm exact drive time before your first visit.
