About the area

Down From the Coca-Cola Sign

Kings Cross has been the late night heart of Sydney for generations, known for its neon-lit Coca-Cola sign above William Street, erected in 1974 and still one of the city's most recognised landmarks.

The El Alamein Memorial Fountain on Macleay Street, built between 1959 and 1961, honours the soldiers who fought at El Alamein in the Second World War and remains one of the Cross's favourite meeting spots.

It's a confirmed 1.4km, a 2-minute drive, from Kings Cross to the Kings Cross tennis courts at Rushcutters Bay Park.
