About the area
Right on New Beach Road
Darling Point is a harbourside peninsula between Rushcutters Bay and Double Bay, and one of Sydney's most exclusive addresses. Darling Point Road runs the length of the headland past heritage mansions and grand harbourside homes, while New Beach Road forms the suburb's western edge, running directly along Rushcutters Bay Park.
McKell Park, at the northern end of Darling Point Road, was built on the site of the demolished 19th century mansion Canonbury and opened as a public park in 1985. St Mark's Anglican Church nearby, designed by Edmund Blacket in 1852, has hosted weddings including Elton John's first marriage.
From the corner of Bayswater Road and New Beach Road, it's about 315m, a 5 minute walk, to Rushcutters Bay Park.
